First Scrutiny

     This rite takes place on the Fifth Sunday of Lent. For Catechumens, this is the third in a series of prayers called Scrutinies in which the Catechumen is called forward for prayer, intercessions and a minor exorcism for the strengthening of faith.  The Catechumen will be presented with a copy of the Lord's Prayer.
