“Faith and reason are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of truth; and God has placed in the human heart a desire to know the truth—in a word, to know himself—so that, by knowing and loving God, men and women may also come to the fullness of truth about themselves.” (St. John Paul II, Fides et Ratio, 1998).
The question of Truth must be addressed because unless we believe there is such a thing, one's perception of the world, one's own thoughts, values, meaning, etc. are reduced to mere chemical firings in the brain.
To deny it is to affirm it; moreover, to deny it is to deny the One who said, "I am the Way the Truth and the Life; no man comes tot he Father but by me" (John 14.6)
