FRIDAY: 8:30 AM
A Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament follows the First Friday morning Mass (8 AM) and ends with Benediction at 9:30 AM.
Those who may be in danger of death should receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick (aka "Extreme Unction" or "Last Rites") promptly, by contacting the parish or after the weekend Masses. Also, those who are sick and in need of anointing and prayer by the priest, please wait until after Mass at the Holy Oils.
Parents must be registered in the parish at least 3 months and attend a preparation class. Use the form on our contact page or call the parish office (864-223-8410) to arrange a baptism class. This class is taught the 3rd Saturday of the month (2 – 4pm).
The normal route in the Latin rite for the Sacrament of Confirmation is after religious education/ catechesis up to the eighth grade in the Diocese of Charleston. Children in CCD
Expected to memorize prayers, the Ten Commandments and sacraments.
Every student is to provide the CCD instructor with a summary of the particular Saint they seek to emulate.
Students are expected to attend every class for the two year period (7-8 grades).
Examination of conscience and go to confession with his/her class well before the day of Confirmation.
Each child must have a sponsor who is a Catholic in good standing with the Church, who is at least 16 years of age and who is not the child’s parent.
Adults in RCIA
A copy of baptism certificate should be provided if he/she was not baptized at OLOL.
Have completed the required course for inquiry. It may be possible depending on the circumstances and experience of the individual to shorten the time of preparation.
Each candidate/ catechumen must have a sponsor who is a Catholic in good standing with the Church, who is at least 16 years of age and who is not the child’s parent.
Holy Communion may be received at home, in a nursing home, or in the hospital. If you find yourself unable to attend Mass and want to receive Communion, either you or an immediate family member may call the office to make the necessary arrangements.
Preparation:
Younger than age 7: be enrolled in the First Communion and First Confession classes during the CCD year.
Older than 7: Be enrolled in CCD and attend the required preparation classes taught by Peggy Ficklin.

not be conscious of grave sin. A person who is conscious of grave sin is not to receive the Body and Blood of the Lord without prior sacramental confession except for a grave reason where there is no opportunity for confession. In this case, the person is to be mindful of the obligation to make an act of perfect contrition, including the intention of confessing as soon as possible (canon 916).
A frequent reception of the Sacrament of Penance is encouraged for all.
Notify the parish office by phone (864-223-8410) or our contact page at least six months prior to the wedding to schedule an appointment with Fr. Tebalt. After the initial meeting with Fr. Tebalt, make an appointment with Dr. Joseph Johnson for pre-nuptial counseling. Marriage Preparation is an excellent site for questions about the teaching of the Church regarding matrimony.
